Synoptec is a synoptic reporting solution for cancer surgery and pathology. Synoptec is a new product replacing Softworks' previous synoptic reporting tool for Cancer Surgery called WebSMR. WebSMR was co-developed with the Alberta Cancer Board (ACB). With Synoptec, the partnership between Softworks and ACB continues with the release of a major new solution delivering many new features and based on fully upgraded technology.
Synoptec is fully compatible with the surgical template set developed by Cancer Surgery Alberta. It also supports the CAP checklist for pathology. Like its predecessor WebSMR, Synoptec allows continuous improvement and refinement in survey template design to take place without the need for technical support. Synoptec allows clinicians to identify, evaluate and refine the list of elements that impact outcomes and therefore should be captured - without requiring programmers or special technical skills. Synoptec expands on WebSMR features to include many new modules including care pathways, HL/7 integration, a task management module, management dashboard, expanded reports, and new report distribution options. General improvements include support for multiple languages, faster performance and a new interface (based on Silverlight and SQL Server 2008 technologies from Microsoft).
