– Our Mission –

Softworks Group Inc. is dedicated to helping regulators and clinicians improve their workflows and efficiency by providing tailored software solutions that improve services and conserve resources.

Our Story

Softworks Group Inc. is a privately held Canadian corporation, incorporated in 1990. Our founder, Tim Edlund, continues to lead the organization as our CEO.

Softworks began as a custom software development house, writing applications for a wide range of industries. As our company grew and opportunity for global reach increased, we narrowed our focus to two markets: healthcare and licensing bodies.

By 2005, our focus was shifting from custom development to software products. For licensing bodies, we developed Alinity™—an enterprise solution for self-regulated professions. On the healthcare side, we developed WebSMR, our first synoptic reporting tool, developed in collaboration with our partner Cancer Surgery Alberta. WebSMR went on to be implemented in 5 provinces in Canada. WebSMR was eventually replaced by the Synoptec™ Clinical Documentation System which is a more comprehensive product addressing a broad range of specialties as well as patient engagement and clinic management requirements.

The Alinity Association Management Software solution is an enterprise-level product for self-regulated professions. Featuring jurisprudence, case management, continuing competence, as well as basic functions like registrations and renewals, Alinity can meet the requirements of regulatory authorities that other association management software simply can’t manage.

Synoptec is a cloud-based EMR for template based clinical reporting, delivering solutions for pathology, radiology, and surgery. With branching forms to hide or display information based on context (such as patient gender), data validation tools to help ensure accuracy, and a built-in analyzer, Synoptec offers a fast, efficient alternative to narrative transcription services.
